Sunnyvale Church Pastors
Joe Strock, Pastor for Worship and Spiritual Life
Joe
Strock was born in Dalton, Georgia. He spent most of his childhood in
Knoxville, Tennessee where he was baptized as a young boy into the Knoxville
Adventist Church. His first experience with hearing God's promptings
to ministry began one night when he attended a local youth revival meeting
where at the end of the meeting the minister gave an altar call. Joe
came up not realizing that he would be the only one to respond initially.
When Joe got to the front, the preacher handed him
the mic and said, "you talk to them". Joe gave a brief 'invitation'
and about half a dozen more teenagers came forward. After the meeting
the minister informed Joe he would one day become a minister. Years
went by before Joe believes he heard God confirming that call in 1994
on a Colorado mountain.
He has served since in ministry in Colorado, Michigan, and Maryland.
In May 2005, he and his wife moved here to Sunnyvale where he is serving
as associate pastor. He has a passion for leading people to worship
God in life, word, song and prayer. He has recorded a Christian CD and
performed in various locations across the country. He loves spending
time outdoors with his family hiking, backpacking, and running with
their dog. He has also enjoyed his latest hobby--motorcycling.
